Now, think back to 1999. Think wayyyy back. 3-D Secure was being introduced, and the payments ecosystem was preparing for a big, inevitable shift in how consumers shop. After years of reviewing the current solutions, EMVCo published the specs for EMV® 3-D Secure (formerly known as 3-D Secure 2.0) in 2016. Not only has the native app (iOS and Android) experience been improved by the introduction of a formal SDK, the browser experience has been improved during web-based transactions. So, whether you are in an app or using a browser, the same set of guidelines apply. This is key to conversion rates, as not all devices share similar experiences. The devices we mentioned earlier, including voice assistants and smart TVs, are another category that is growing year over year.
