CardinalCommerce Advisory Committee Formed to Examine Current State, Future of Mobile Commerce and eCommerce CLEVELAND, Feb. 11, 2008 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- CardinalCommerce, leading provider of enabling payment brands for merchants, banks and processors, announced today the creation of the CardinalCommerce Advisory Council (CCAC). The CCAC is a committee of leading industry experts, Cardinal Customers and leading Retail brands.
First developed in 2007, the mission of the council is to review key industry trends and evaluate the payment landscape by holding quarterly sessions with its members. The first 2008 CCAC session was held on January 17, 2008 to discuss one of the industry's hottest topics, Mobile Commerce.
Key speakers for the session included Tim Sherwin, Executive Vice President of CardinalCommerce and Nanci Rainey, Vice President of Business Development for Firethorn Mobile.
As experts in the mobile commerce environment, Sherwin and Rainey were able to give a detailed view of the development of mobile payments and mobile banking thus far, including information on success of adoption with merchants, banks, operators, and consumers. Also provided was insight regarding costs, risks, and other considerations when launching mobile commerce. Future trends and expected progress were also mentioned, such as location proximity technology when advertising to consumers via SMS (text message).
The council went on to discuss what needs to happened in order to "go mobile". CardinalCommerce enables merchants including CCAC Members SkyMall and Ritz Interactive on their mobile platform, Cardinal MAX.
